Snyk Agent Scan repo

Snyk's open scanner for AI agents, MCP servers and agent skills. Version 0.6 and later detects 14 distinct security risks: prompt injection, untrusted content handling, private data exposure, destructive capabilities, suspicious downloads, malicious code, insecure credential handling and secret detection among them.

What it does for you: YY's Skills folder has over 700 skills synced from many sources. This is a direct way to run one scan over AXION's Skills folder before syncing anything new into .claude skills, instead of trusting a README by eye.

In practice: A boring, well scoped security tool from an established vendor, exactly the kind of thing that is easy to skip and expensive to have skipped.

For: Both runtimes. A CLI scanner that reads skill and MCP config files directly, no dependency on which agent runtime consumes those skills afterward.

Bifrost repo

An open source AI gateway that sits in front of LLM calls, MCP tool calls and agent calls. One OpenAI compatible endpoint covers over 10,000 models with failover, load balancing, semantic caching, virtual keys, budgets and guardrails.

What it does for you: This fills a real gap in how Axion currently calls models: a single gateway that can enforce spend budgets, cache repeat calls and block risky MCP tool calls before they execute, instead of each tool and skill calling providers directly. Standing this up in front of the Telegram bridge and the Claude Agent SDK calls would give YY one place to see cost, failures and blocked tool calls across both runtimes.

In practice: This is the most directly useful infra find of the batch, it fills a real gap rather than being a nice to have.

For: Both runtimes. Bifrost is a standalone Go binary that fronts LLM, MCP and agent calls over an OpenAI compatible API, so Claude Code and Hermes can both sit behind it without any Claude specific code.

NVIDIA SkillSpector repo

NVIDIA's open source security scanner for AI agent skills, built as a LangGraph workflow. It checks 71 vulnerability patterns across 17 categories including prompt injection, data exfiltration, privilege escalation, memory poisoning and MCP tool poisoning, and outputs a SARIF report and risk score.

What it does for you: In NVIDIA's own published scan of over 31,000 public skills, 26 percent contained vulnerabilities and 5 percent showed likely malicious intent. Running this against AXION's own 700 plus skills before the next canonical sync would catch the same category of problem before it reaches .claude skills.

In practice: This and Snyk's scanner cover the same need from two different vendors, worth running one of them rather than neither, the overlap is a reason to pick one, not to skip both.

For: Both runtimes. A LangGraph workflow that scans a skill directory or zip file directly, independent of which runtime later loads the skill.

Claude Code and Claude Agent SDK subagent update repo

Claude Code 2.1.296 added autoCompactWindow to subagent frontmatter so a subagent can compact its own context before the main session does, plus CLAUDE_CODE_WORKFLOW_SUBAGENT_MODEL to pin every workflow agent to one model. The matching Claude Agent SDK release added beta browser use and computer use tool classes, and OpenTelemetry trace export for Messages API and managed agent sessions.

What it does for you: autoCompactWindow is a direct fix for the exact problem that broke this newsletter's own runs for weeks: a subagent that reads a large file and stalls mid task instead of compacting early. Adding this key to AXION's heaviest subagents, and the OpenTelemetry export to see where Axion's own token spend actually goes, are both same day changes with the current process.

In practice: This is Anthropic fixing a problem YY has lived with directly, worth acting on this week rather than filing away.

mattpocock/skills skill

A public collection of Matt Pocock's personal Claude Code skills folder: planning, debugging, TDD, domain modeling, handoff and git guardrail skills, each a single SKILL.md file with frontmatter plus referenced scripts.

What it does for you: A reference set from a well known TypeScript educator for comparing against AXION's own canonical Skills, useful for spotting gaps or better phrasing in YY's handoff, systematic debugging and TDD skills rather than for direct install.

In practice: Clean, small, exactly what a skill should look like, worth reading even where YY already has an equivalent.

NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails repo

NVIDIA's open source toolkit for adding programmable guardrails, input, output, dialog, retrieval and execution rails, to any LLM based system, running entirely inside your own infrastructure with no required external API call.

What it does for you: A concrete, self hosted option for the kind of rule enforcement Ouria's auto unsub and heat rule gating already needs by hand: a programmable rail that can block or rewrite a message before it sends, auditable because it runs on YY's own machine instead of a third party API.

In practice: Mature, Apache 2.0, backed by a real company, a reasonable default if YY ever wants rails instead of hand written gating logic.

Claude HUD plugin

A Claude Code plugin that shows a live statusline below the input: context window remaining, rate limit headroom, which tools are running, which subagents are active, and todo list progress.

What it does for you: This would give YY a direct view of context usage while a long Axion build is running, instead of finding out a subagent died from context exhaustion only after the fact, which is the exact failure mode that broke this newsletter's own runs for weeks.

Letta Agent SDK repo

Letta's SDK for building stateful agents, where each agent keeps its own identity and long term memory across conversations, model swaps and the machine it runs on, continuing the git based Context Repositories work from earlier this year.

What it does for you: The identity persists across model swaps idea is directly relevant to the context exhaustion problem this very newsletter run fights every morning, worth a read for how Letta frames memory as a portable object instead of a context window problem to work around.

REA (Reverse Engineer Anything) repo

An MCP server and CLI that lets a coding agent reverse engineer an app's behavior, down to decompiling native binaries, Electron apps, .NET assemblies and websites, without starting from source code.

What it does for you: When YY needs to understand how a competitor's funnel, a closed vendor API, or an old internal tool actually behaves with no source available, this gives an agent a structured way to investigate it instead of YY reading disassembly by hand. It produces pseudocode, module graphs and execution traces, not a clone, so treat the output as a map, not working code.

In practice: The growth curve here is the real story, not the tool itself, it went from unnoticed to one of the fastest star climbs GitHub has tracked in a single week, which is worth independent verification before leaning on it for anything important.

What it does for you: Neither vertical matches MCL's coaching and marketing business or Axion's own tooling, so this is a fit mismatch worth noting rather than acting on, the useful habit it reinforces is checking this directory first before treating a plugin shaped find as obscure.

What it does for you: This maps closely to Buzz's social scouting and the AI Scout's own lens work, reading what is trending on Twitter or Reddit without a paid API, but every platform it scrapes has terms of service that generally prohibit this kind of automated access, so the convenience comes with real account and legal exposure.

AWS's Strands Agents SDK added BidiAgent, a Python only class for live, bidirectional voice conversations that keeps the model connection open across responses, runs tools mid conversation, handles interruptions and maintains history, working with Amazon Nova Sonic, Google Gemini Live or the OpenAI Realtime API.

What it does for you: A second concrete option alongside Grok Voice 3.0 for any future voice to content or AI clone voice work, this one open source and self hosted rather than a closed hosted API, worth comparing the two before committing to either.

In practice: A real engineering answer to interruption handling in voice agents, the kind of detail that is easy to get wrong building this by hand.

ECC repo

A large bundled agent harness system claiming 71 agents, 311 skills, continuous learning via confidence scored instincts, and an AgentShield security scanner, aimed at Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode and other harnesses.

What it does for you: On paper this overlaps a large share of what AXION already builds piece by piece, agents, skills, memory, security scanning, which makes it tempting, but the same project description word for word appears duplicated across at least three other GitHub accounts, Eugene-EE, rubystream and agent-memory-atlas-archive, which is a pattern associated with star count gaming, not independent forks of real work.

In practice: The scope of what it claims is the biggest flag here, not any one feature, a system this large from a single maintainer with cloned mirror repos deserves real skepticism before anything from it gets near AXION.
